#Enamel matrix proteins in the developing root
Enamal matrix is induced from HERS during tooth development procedure and controls the initiation, propgation, termination and maturation of enamel hydroxyapatite crystallites.

After apoptosis of HERS cell
→ Dentinal root surface에 Enamel matrix protein apposition
→ Providing initial and essential steps for formation of Acellular cementum (Slavkin and Boyde, 1975)
→ Formation of cementum on the surface of Enamel-matrix-covered dentin
→ Attachment apparatus formation (Slavkin et al., 1989)

* Enamelins
: also called Non-amelogenin
: including Proline-rich enamelin, tuftelin and tuft protein
* Shethline (ameloblastin, amelin)

1. Helps differentiation/proliferation of primary osteoblast and PDL cell, both.
2. Stimulate the release of rowth factor, cytokines
3. Helps differentiation of bone morphogenetic protein 2 (BMP-2)
4. Transform of Growth factor beta 1, collagen 1α1, alkaline phosphatase and osteocalcin

Neutral PH, 24% EDTA root surface treatment agent
Efficient removal of smear layer
→ Helps the apposition of EMD on root surface by clensing.
* Citric acid, tetracycline (for 30~40 seconds) can be used instead of PrefGel
